He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen Dornink and Lera Dornink (Griffen); his brothers, Francis (Karlene Dornink), Richard Dornink and Darryl (Ruth Dornink); and his grandson Erik Dornink.

He is survived by: his wife Dona (Meyer); his children, Debra DiGvonni (Mike), Sally Scaman and Steve Dornink (Suzie); his grandchildren, Daniel DiGvonni, Megan Kerchner (Joe), Rachel Baker (Colin), Samuel Scaman (Bailey) and Evan Dornink (Lauren); and his sister-in-law Colleen Dornink. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to one of the following organizations: FHN Hospice, DOE (Dakota Opportunities in Education), Winneshiek Church.
