It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronald James Kalina of Freeport, Illinois, born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, who passed away on August 8, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo Kalina and Agnes Kalina (Nekola). He is survived by: his siblings, Larry Kalina (Betty), Robert Kalina (Sandi), Charlene Willaby (Kevin), Nancy Garling (Gene) and Dan Kalina; his wife Cheryl Ann Bates; his children, Christine Kyler (Roger), Scott Kalina (Kathy) and Mark Kalina (Astrid); his grandchildren, Wesley, Samuel, Michele (Jerry), Brian (Tricia), Samantha and Amelie; and his great grandchildren, Sabrina, Annabel, Danielle and Arianna.

Due to COVID-19, the family is forgoing a public memorial service.
