He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arvest Nye (Rocky) and Martha Belle Almeda Scott (Scottie); his wife Carol Jean Nye; his sons, Troy Nye (Tonya) of Madison, WI and Brad Nye (Rachel) of Timnath, CO; his grandchildren, Mia and Brooke Nye; and his siblings, Susan Lawson, Doris Leimer, Audrey Nye-Shaffer, Tony Nye and Melissa Forth.
