It is with sadness that the passing of Ursie E. Broge of Freeport, Illinois is shared. Ursie, born on February 23, 1937, passed away on October 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Price and Hattie Price (Patton); her husband Eugene "Gene" L. Broge; her daughter Gale; her grandchildren, Shantell Winslow and Jacob Ellis; her in-laws, Clifford and Bessie Broge (Tieman); and her siblings, Elmer, Kenneth Price and Alice Ludington.
She is survived by: her children, Rose Marie Leiendecker (Nick) of Warren, IL, Christine (Brad), Eugenia Steffens (Lee) of Shoreview, MN and John Broge (Karoline) of Winslow, IL; her grandchildren, Jerad Bennett (Michelle) of Nora, IL, Carrie Harris (Mike) of Nora, IL, Jeanette Dorsey (Mike) of Orangeville, IL, Nickolas Bennet (Alex Strife) of Rockford, IL, Ben Ellis (Maranda) of Marysville, WA, Joe (Annalyn), Jim (Meghan), Katelyn Washburn (Dan), Jonathan (Laura), Jessica Brinkmeier (Dirk) of Freeport, IL, Travis Broge of Winslow, IL, Amber Hanson (Brady) of Pearl City, IL and Mike Broge (Lila) of Juda, WI; and her pet Character. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (625 Country Ln Dr, Lena, IL 61048). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established in her name for the Lena Friendship Center and Mercyhealth Hospice.
