It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lester J. Smith (Fulton, Illinois), who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Lester farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Lester is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Smith and Winnifred Smith (Balk); and his stepson Robert Joseph Dunning. He is survived by: his wife Lila Smith; his daughters, Kathy Borkgren (Carl) and Rhonda Willis (Randy); his siblings, Alberta Dykhuizen (John), Harold Smith (Helen) and William Smith; and his stepchildren, William Joseph Dunning and Teresa Edwards. He is also survived by five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
