He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schmid and Ann Schmid (Ross); his siblings, Dennis, Don and Lori; and his brother-in-law Duane Ballhagen.
He is survived by: his wife Neva Bautsch; his siblings, Patricia Ballhagen and Robert Schmid (Bonnie); his mother-in-law Alice Muchow; his sister-in-law Cindy Glesne (Joe Sargent); and his aunts, Elsie McNett and Juliette Schmid. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
