He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Glenn" Shuey and Edith Shuey (Manz); his daughter Christine Shuey; his siblings, Richard Shuey, Karen, Ruth Shuey and Judy White; and his brothers-in-law, Terry White and Drew Mullen.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon of Galena; his daughters, Heather Gietl of Galena, Cyndy Montgomery (Jacob Schwartz) of Galena and Shannon Kane (Dan) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Hanna Gietl, Curtis Cook (Celeste), Lex Montgomery (Liubov), Lacey Kammes (Ben), Linzy Montgomery (Cooper), Daniel Kane (Kristine) and Mia Kane (Devin); his great grandchildren, Emma, Paizley, Parker Cook, Owen Kammes and Kane Griswold; and his siblings, Bill Shuey (Pat), Mary Jean Mullen, Diane Rosenthal (Marty), Susan Pfaff (Greg) and Martha Dittmar (Dan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be donated to a charitable cause in Dave's name.
