She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Oldenburg and Helena Oldenburg (Schnerre); her husband George Virtue; her siblings, Robert, Albert Raymond, Ambrose, Francis, Leo, Gladys Greene, Antoinette Staggs, Mary Wienen and Imelda Olech; and her son-in-law Rick Hocking.
She is survived by : her children, Paula Virtue (Paula Kowalke) of Boston, MA, Michael Virtue (Linda) of Hanover, IL, Libby Miller (Ron) of Galena, Tony Virtue of Sycamore, IL and Mary Hocking of Galena; her grandchildren, Josh Virtue (Molly Sysko), Brad Virtue (Erica), Luke Virtue, Andy Miller (Kim), Paul Miller, Anna Thill (Ian) and Adam Hocking; her stepgrandchildren, Kelly McSwain, Eric Hickman, Fred Messersmith, Sarah Volpe, Natasha Richemond and William Messersmith; and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Blake Virtue, Madelyn, Carson Miller, Andrea, Arriana Miller and Jaxon Thill. She is also survived by sixteen step-great-grandchildren.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be given to St Mary's Church of Galena or Hospice of Dubuque.
