He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Jr. Schumacher and Dorothy Schumacher (Lallamann); his stepfather Bernard Peschang; his sisters, Janice Kutsch and Mary Ann Kieffer; his siblings-in-law, David White, James White, Gene Brodrecht, Ronald "Shorty" Kevern and Carol Kevern; and his nephew Jason Kevern.
He is survived by: his children, Matt Schumacher and Megan Kaiser (Casey) of Galena; his grandchildren, Myles, Eli Schumacher, Chloe and Austin Kaiser; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Kieffer of Galena, Dale White (Roxanne) of Galena, Gary White (Rose) of Helena, MT, Sandra Brodrecht of Marion, IA and Cheryl White of Galena. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
