She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Sproule and Helen Sproule (Myhre); her son Douglas Berning; and her brother Roger Sproule. She is survived by: her children, Laura Pearce (Chad) of Hazel Green, WI, Valerie Berning (Jon) of Hanover, IL and Paul Berning (Anya) of Waltham, MA; her grandchildren, Owen Knauer, Indigo Wiley and Kira Berning; and her siblings, Susan Hilberry, Tim Sproule (Lynn), Sandra Kooistra (Larry), Jim Sproule (Suzanne), Earl Jr. Sproule (Karen), Lorna Mongan (Dave), Mary Jane Berning, Robert Sproule (Jaron), Beth Thorngren (Phil) and Thomas Sproule. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a Margo Berning Memorial Fund has been established at Apple River State Bank.
