She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leo Westemeier and Mildred Westemeier (Foecking); her husband James "Jim" Wachter; her children, Dan (Karen), Susie Duffy and Catherine Wachter; her grandchildren, Keith Wachter (Maddie) and Kari Staley (Joe); and her great grandchildren, Mia and Lucy Staley.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (400 Franklin St, Galena, IL 61036). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a Mary Wachter Memorial Fund has been established.
