He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Soat and Viola Soat (Temperly); his in-laws, Tom and Anne Hickie; his sisters, Helen Richardson (Wes), Ruth Anger (Chris) and Carol May Soat; his in-laws, Mark Knautz, Jim Hickie and Mary Hickie; his nephews, Jason and David Berlage; and his niece Jodi Knautz.
He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Hickie; his son Tom; his grandchildren, Addison (Cyrus) and William; his brother Robert Soat (Mary); and his in-laws, Sandy Hickie, Marilyn Berlage (John), Steve Hickie (Kelly), Alice Knautz, Linda Pfeiffer (Cecil) and Ty Hickie (Tracey). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
