With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Theresa Townsend of Galena, Illinois, born in Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on April 1, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband George Cameron Townsend; her parents, Vincent and Nellie Darmofal (Kupiec); and her siblings, Ray, Eleanore and Leo.

She is survived by : her children, Kathleen Townsend, Pamela Tindell (Dan), Steven Townsend (Karen) and Jeffrey Townsend (Natalie); her grandchildren, Kaila Long (Joey), Emily Mock, Benjamin Townsend (Carlie), Jacob Townsend (Chithra), Grace Tindell, Imree Townsend, Judah Townsend, Annalise Townsend, Norah Townsend and Jubilee Townsend; her great grandchildren, Elliot, Alice, Maya Mock, Olivia, Owen, Oliver Townsend, Clementine Long, Junia and Asha Townsend; and her siblings, Stella Gerl, Edward Darmofal (Rosalie), Robert Darmofal (Sue) and Joseph Darmofal (Fran). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Kerr-Paryzgnot Funeral Home (540 Dixie Hwy, Chicago Heights, IL 60411).

Memorial gifts may be made to the Kiwanis Foundation of Galena or St Marys Catholic Church.
