She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Mims, and Velma Mims, Sr. (Gipson); and her siblings, Clyde Mims, Melvin Mims, Jr., Rosie Lewis and Imeater Davidson.
She is survived by: her children, Darlene Smith-Donaldson (Robert) of Galesburg, Angela Smith of Tamarac, Florida, James Smith of Peoria, Michael Smith of Galesburg, Tommy Smith of Joliet, Tony Smith of Galesburg and Keith Smith of Galesburg; and her siblings, Rev. John H. Mims (Vicki) of Quincy, Illinois, Dorothy Wilson of Galesburg and Gloria Williams of Galesburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
