We announce the death of Carl Strauch of Galesburg, Illinois, born in Canton, Illinois, who passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 72. Carl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Carl will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Carl will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Carl’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Franz Strauch and Marjorie Ann Strauch (Sappington). He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his children, Chris Strauch (Molly) of Normal, Illinois and Laura Strauch of Peoria; his sister Barb Strauch (John Morgan) of Canton; and his granddaughter Brenna Barr. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (101 N Prairie St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Reserve Artisan Ales (185 S Kellogg St, Galesburg, IL 61401).
In accordance with Carl's wishes, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, the Rotary International Foundation or the Noon Rotary Foundation.
