She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Gittings and Dorothy Gittings (Dowell); and her sisters, Lea Estelyn Johnson, Bonnie Scott and Nedra Mason.

She is survived by: her spouse Russell D. Sharp Sr.; her children, Rhonda McMeekan (Duane) of Mesa and Russell Sharp Jr. of Galesburg; her grandsons, Aaron McMeekan (Julie), Chad McMeekan and Sheldon McMeekan of Chandler, Arizona; her stepgranddaughter Carol Curtis of Galesburg; her great grandchildren, Patrick McMeekan of Galva, Preston McMeekan of Chandler and Payton McMeekan (Gabrielle) of Oceanside, California; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jenna Curtis of Macomb and Ryan Curtis of Galesburg; her siblings, Mable Jane Boone of Monmouth, Robert Gittings (Jerry) of Little York, Perry Gittings of Davenport, Iowa and Edward Gittings of Davenport, Iowa; and her sister-in-law Erma Johnson of Galesburg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
