He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry "Vern" Howerter and Mildred Howerter (Johnson); his brothers, Jack Howerter and Tom Howerter; and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Howerter and Delores Howerter.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Black of Galesburg, Illinois; his children, Bradley Daniel Howerter (Michelle) of East Galesburg, Todd Michael Howerter (Sarah) of Knoxville and Kelley Lynn Kellerstrass (Justin) of Knoxville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Shaylee, Daniel, Declan, Jase, Hannah, Millie, Adalynn and Emery; his brother Harry Howerter, Jr. of Galesburg, Illinois.; and his sister-in-law Connie Howerter of Galesburg, Illinois..
