With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jack L. Howerter of Galesburg, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry L. Howerter and Mildred E. Howerter (Johnson); his wife Delores J. Schroeder; his son Darin Howerter; his brother Thomas; and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Howerter and Karen Thomas (Gary).
He is survived by: his daughters, Rita Fitzsimmons (Bob) of Galesburg and Lisa Blake (Jim) of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Kate Cross (Tom), Pat Fitzsimmons (Michele), Kelsey Mehlin (Kurt), David Blake (Andi Hendrix) and Mike Howerter; his brothers, Harry Howerter of Galesburg and Danny Howerter (Carol) of Galesburg; and his sisters-in-law, Connie Howerter and Jan Unger (Neill). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
