He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde J. Mims and Bernetta V. "Bertie" Mims (Mixon); his father-in-law Dick Booth; and his siblings, Willie Mims, Terry Mims and Ruth Mims.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Nathan Mims Jr. (Bridgit) of Iowa City, Jodi L. Mims (Di Burrill) of Rock Island and Matthew Mims Sr. of Galesburg; his brothers, Fred Mims (Susan) of Iowa City and Bobby Mims of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother-in-law Charlotte Booth of Elmwood; and his grandchildren, Braden, Sja'Lell, Raja, Matt Jr., Isabelle, Scarlett, Justina, Jordan, Sofia, Tiago and Bryar. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
