It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Opal Rose Chaney of Galesburg, Illinois, born in La Grange, Missouri, who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Taylor Beary and Kathryn Beary (Shanklin); her husband John M. Chaney; and her brothers, Chester and Leonard Beary (Dee).

She is survived by: her children, Rose Olson (Ted) of Galesburg, John Chaney (Rosalie) of Galesburg and Sam Chaney (Susie) of Galesburg. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church in Galesburg.
