He was predeceased by: his father Edward Thadeous Ray; his granddaughter Aria; his mother Bernice Nelson (Ray); his stepfather Richard Nelson; and his sister Ann Gebert.
He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Autumn Ray of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Kiara Ray, Kingston Ray, Alorah Macumber and Kodin Macumber; and his great grandchild Kaspian Ray. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters, a half-brother and half-sister, and nieces and nephews.
