She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley E. Nichols and Gladys M. Nichols (Burnett); her husband Robert Arthur "Bob" Childers; her son Alan Lynn Childers; and her great grandchild Elizabeth Jordan.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Childers of Mattoon and Sheila Childers (Lyle Schoonover) of Gays; her sister Betty Crites of Mattoon; her siblings-in-law, Rick Childers of Allenville, Jeff Baker of Michigan, Linda Burns (Gilbert) of Mt. Morris, MI and Cherie Polk of Windsor; and her grandchildren, Michael Childers, Greg Childers, Heidi Childers and Alex Carter. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice in remembrance of Barbara.
