He was predeceased by: his parents, William Johnson and Ada Johnson (Kelling); his former wife Eleanor Johnson; his siblings, Sandra Charlan and Wes Johnson; his parents-in-law, Gene and Shirley Fisher; and his sister-in-law Julie Fisher.

He is survived by: his wife Debra of Geneseo, IL; his children, Bradley Carpenter (Joleen) of Monroe, NC and Samantha Busse (Curt) of Clayton, GA; his siblings, Ronald Johnson (Deb) of Port Byron, IL, Shirley Hanson of Wisconsin and Denise Ward (Mike); his grandchildren, Brandon Carpenter, Jenna Grimm (Hunter), Jaymee Carpenter, Breanna Carpenter, Davis Busse and Lisa LaBelle; and his great grandchildren, Link and Banks Grimm. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Master Captain on the Mississippi River (LONE STAR steamer LeClaire ,IA Museum / Lady Lone Star diesel Towboat) and the go-to Captain for the Army Corps of Engineers when barges got stuck under the Government Bridge. Glenn always had time to tell the stories of his past. Sorry for the loss of a man with great honor and character. Joe Andrews and family”
