He was predeceased by: his parents, George Specht and Genevieve Specht (Park); his siblings, Ronald Specht and Janett Fassett; and his grandson Aiden Stoner.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Grider of Geneseo; his children, Tom Specht (Joan) of Geneseo, Greg Specht of Geneseo and Karla Doy (Mike) of Geneseo; and his grandchildren, Matt Arnold (Dariann), Jake Arnold (Karissa), Trevor Specht, Scot Stoner (Haley) and Erin Schumacher (Keenan). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Geneseo Humane Society.
