He was predeceased by: his father Jack Mathison; and his nephew Andrew Mathison. He is survived by: his mother Judie Mathison (Link); his wife Florence J. Trevino; his children, Terri, Dawn (Don), Leon (Melissa) and Josh (Rosie); and his siblings, Brooke (Pam), Brent (Sharon) and Susan (Ned). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews.
