He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smith and Mary Smith (Mungie); his brothers, James and Andrew Pat; and his wife Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Barry (Caroline) of Riverwoods, Randy (Mary) of Park Ridge and Karen (Steve) of Park Ridge; and his sister Ilene Hagman of Madison, Wisconsin.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild.
