He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Anne Catherine O'Brien (Reynolds); and his brothers, Patrick, Daniel and Casey O'Brien.
He is survived by: his wife Susan O'Brien of Geneva; his children, Michael Gabel, Marty Gabel, Timmy Gabel (Julie) and Sara Lewis (Ryan); and his grandchildren, Emma Gabel, Dylan, Jonathan, Caleb, Aiden Lewis, Leah Lewis and Abby Hogan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
