We announce the death of Susan Kay Gartke of Genoa, Illinois, who passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 75. Susan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Eglinsdoerfer and Roma Eglinsdoerfer; and her siblings, Sally and Baby Eglinsdoerfer. She is survived by: her husband William Nicholas Gartke; her sons, Michael Gartke (Kristin) and David Gartke (Heather); her grandsons, Sean Gartke and Joshua Gartke; her siblings, Florence Lynch (Jay), Jim Harmon (Keith) and Robert Eglinsdoerfer (Maxine); and her sister-in-law Debra Gartke. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church (950 S York Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Emblem Cemetery (520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
