It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Smitley of Georgetown, Illinois, who passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Ralph Smitley; his wife Virginia Smitley (Antrim); and his grandson Phillip L. Smitley. He is survived by: his children, E. Lee Smitley Jr. (Christy), Julia Adkisson (Donnie) and Carol Smitley; and his grandchildren, Laura A Miller, Steven Wheeler Jr. (Ann) and Mathew Wheeler (Traci).
