James P. Blue Obituary
We bid farewell to James P. Blue of Georgetown, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 28, 2025 at the age of 80. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Dee Blue and Margaret McClard (McDannel-Blue); his grandmother Della Grant; his son-in-law David Sorensen; his grandson Joshua Grant Blue; and his sisters, Sonja Jean McManaway and Marge Tracy.
He is survived by: his spouse Christinia Blue (Brownfield); his children, Lisa Sorensen of Mattoon, James "Jimmy" P. Blue II (Carla) of Chrisman and Brook Cobble (Chris) of Catlin; his grandchildren, Timothy Sorensen, Christopher Sorensen, Tyler Blue (Katie), Mariya Blue, Allyson Cobble, Coleton Cobble and Jenna Johnson Blue; his great grandchildren, Lucas Sorensen, Bridget Sorensen, Maverick Sorensen, Cooper Manker and Emerson Sorensen; his siblings, Chester D. Blue Jr., Maria Jackson and Patty Marks; his grandchildren, Jaycie Gilbert, Bryleigh Collom, Erica Whitington and Amanda Whitington Bell; his close friend Rich Darby; and his grandson Josh.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Donations may be given in his honor to the "Brother Blue Memorial Fund".
