He was predeceased by: his parents, Amy "Ruth" Maudlin and Charles Maudlin; and his sons, Henry and Stephen Maudlin. He is survived by: his wife Rosalynn Maudlin; his daughters, Sandra Perry (Andrew) and Linda Kadrich (Daniel); his stepsons, Bryan Mickelson (Mary Ann) and Alan Mickelson (Peg); his grandchildren, Ellie Kadrich, Jameson Perry, Nathan Mickelson (Mary), Greg Mickelson (Diana), Reilly Mickelson and Hannah Mickelson; and his siblings, Paul Maudlin, Sara Donahue, Joan Stanley, Pauline Maudlin and Marie Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center (200 E West St, Georgetown, IL 61846). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name can be made to the Elwood Friends Meeting.
