He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Higgins and Juanita Higgins (Gray); his former wife Cyndia Lilly; his brother Richard; his sister-in-law Hazel Lindsley; and his nephews, Michael and Craig Lindsley.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Luecke; his son Joe Higgins (Amy) of Gibson City; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Aubrey; his son Tim Higgins (Kari) of Monticello; his grandchildren, Abi, Zac, Gus, Nellie and Jay; his daughter Sarah of Gibson City; and his sister Sharon Howell (Bob) of South Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
