He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick G. Arends and Lavina Geise Arends; his son Todd William Arends; and his sisters, Evelyn Gulo and Marjory Hudson.

He is survived by : his wife Jean Ann Arends of Melvin; his children, Anita Jean Arends of Savoy and Ross Arends (Connie) of McLean, Virginia; his daughter-in-law Linda Arends of Meridian, Idaho; and his grandchildren, Andrew of McLean, Virginia., Coco (Corinne) of McLean, Virginia., Alexander of McLean, Virginia., Conrad of McLean, Virginia. and Carissa Arends of McLean, Virginia..

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
