It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Joyce Grossglauser of Gillespie, Illinois, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Neily Oliver and Thelma Elizabeth Matthews Hammond; her son John Ernest Grossglauser; her brothers, Neily "Babe" Hammond, Jr. and Jack Hammond; her sister-in-law Janet Hammond; her sister Sharon Dailey; her brother-in-law Stuart Dailey; and her sister Christina Saxby.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Grossglauser (Michelle) of Worley, ID, Rick Grossglauser (Carol Ann) of Hayden, ID and Schatzi Grossglauser (Gary Lumley) of Gillespie, IL; her grandchildren, Robert "Zack" Grossglauser (Tami), Timothy Grossglauser (Connie), Candice Katchmar (Mike), Nathaniel Grossglauser (Lindsey), Robert Thompson, Sabrina Dutra (Nate), Christopher Grossglauser (Laura), Ricky Grossglauser (Jessica Miller), Uriah Grossglauser, Teresa Raynor (Austin), Seth Grossglauser (Melissa), Obediah Grossglauser (Lindsey), Aimee Grossglauser, Ezra Grossglauser (Maryssa) and Jacqueline Grossglauser; her sister Linda Fortney (Henry) of Freeport, IL; and her sister-in-law Janice Hammond of Freeport, IL. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
