He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Purdy and Ann Ferrie Purdy; his wife MaryLou White Purdy; and his brothers, Robert Purdy and Alfred "Chick" Purdy.

He is survived by: his daughter Linda Stanevich (Alan) of Beecher, IL; his granddaughters, Rachel Marie Stanevich and Melissa Ann Stanevich; and his sister LaNora Scraper of Maryville, IL..
