He was predeceased by : his parents, Lyman "Red" Stead and Mary E. Tietsort Stead; his wife Darlene Crain; and his daughter Shelly Katcher. He is survived by : his son Steven Stead (Patricia) of Virden, IL; and his grandchildren, Sarah Colvin (Josh), Samantha Boehler (Chase Fientje), Kyle Katcher (Kelsi), Quentin Stead and Maddix Stead. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
