He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey D. Lutz and Cattie Lutz (Watkins); and his siblings, Florence Miller, Mattie Nance, Robert Watkins and Edward Lutz.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Lutz (Arnold) of Girard, IL; his children, John M. Lutz, II of Chester, IL and Kathleen Thacker (Craig) of Belleville, IL; his granddaughters, Taylor Mourning and Elda Thacker; his great grandchildren, Sullivan, Benson and Callahan; and his sister Ruby Baker of Hettick, IL..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home (226 N 3rd St, Girard, IL 62640). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at the Girard Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church-Girard or to the family.
