He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Fields of Venice Illinois; his brother John "Jack" Fields; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Fields (Tom), Matilda Mannina (John), Ann Graklanoff (Joe), Margie Greenwald (Frank), Josie Miofsky (Andy), Dolores Parente (Don), Oscar Ponce (Sophie) and Robert J. Ponce (Ina).
He is survived by: his father Arthur Fields; his wife Gloria Jean Fields (Ponce) of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his sons, Matthew Joseph Fields (Janice) of Edwardsville and Eric Fields (Nicole) of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his grandchildren, John, Charles, Allyson, Joel and Nylah; his siblings, Thomas Fields, Mary Ann George (Richard) and Elizabeth Hooks (Rick); and his sister-in-law Mary Kay Fields. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Edison's Entertainment Complex (2477 S State Rte 157, Edwardsville, IL 62025). The military honors will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
