Bernice Gerstenecker Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernice Gerstenecker of Glen Carbon, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 3, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kruckeberg and Nora Kruckeberg (Eberhart); her siblings, Donald Kruckeberg (Lois), Myrna Strohmeier (Les), Norma Anderson (Tom) and Carol Ann Kruckeberg; her in-laws, Herb and Cleo Elwick; and her brothers-in-law, Gary and Wilton Elwick (Martha).
She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Rezabek (Bruce), Diana Kruckeberg (Mark), Sandy Weinacht (Kerry) and Susan Spillers (Richard); her grandchildren, Brian Rezabek, Dawn Rezabek, Eric Kruckeberg, Amy Minor, Samantha Clark (Rob), Stephanie French (Nathan) and Kayla Weinacht (Connor Bafetti); and her great grandchildren, Gabe, Mirykle, Sebastian, Grace Rezabek and Catherine Clark.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Weber & Rodney Funeral Home (304 N Main St, Edwardsville, IL 62025). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Eden Church (903 N 2nd St, Edwardsville, IL 62025).
The family suggests memorials be made to Eden Village Care Center or Vitas Hospice.
