We bid farewell to Gale Garbe of Glen Carbon, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 7, 2025 at the age of 85. Gale touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Garbe and Edwin Garbe; his son Gary Garbe; and his siblings, Garland Kingery, Eleanor Ekstrand, Evelyn Mattis and Marcella Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Garbe (Reilly); his daughters, Chris Shashack (Greg) of Edwardsville and Karin Taplin (Paul) of Foristell; his grandchildren, Emily Siers (Evan), Katie Carmichael (Garrett), Samantha Taplin (Curtis Slisz), Ethan Taplin (Meghan Barnes) and Shae Garbe; his stepgrandchild Farrah Taylor (Brian); and his great grandchild Delaney Siers. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research or the Ronald McDonald House Charities and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
