As Gary departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Gary. Though Gary may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Toyama and Miyoko Toyama; and his brother Steve. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Shigetomi-Toyama; his daughters, Kristin (Patrick Geilfuss) and Reyna (Jay Hampton); his sister Karen; and his mother-in-law Chie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brown Colonial Mortuary (204 W 17th St, Santa Ana, CA 92706). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
