He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Taylor Thorne; and his parents, John, Sr. Thorne and Marie Ivey Thorne. He is survived by: his children, John Thorne, Clark Thorne and Elizabeth Jozefowicz; his children-in-law, Sara, Pamela and Jim; his grandchildren, John Thorne IV (Emily), Elizabeth Brophy (Christopher), Walter Thorne (Sarah), Samuel Thorne (Darby), Devin Zigman, Tom Jozefowicz and Jane Jozefowicz; and his great grandchildren, Penelope, Georgina, Farley Thorne, Eugene, Matilda, Fred Brophy, Angus Thorne, Wade and Emma Thorne.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Southminster Presbyterian Church (680 S Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
