She was predeceased by: her son Mark; her husband Jerome Schurmeier; and her sister Caroline Leach. She is survived by: her daughter Janet Avila (Ramiro); her grandsons, Eric, Adam Avila and Mason Schurmeier; and her sister Lucy Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the People's Resource Center in Wheaton.
