She is survived by: her son Michael Merritt (Claudia); and her brothers, Michael and Theodore Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul AME Church (336 Washington Ave, Glencoe, IL 60022). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
