It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Giannakopoulos (Glenview, Illinois), who passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Steve Giannakopoulos; and her parents, Nikolaos and Maria. She is survived by: her children, Peter Giannakopoulos, Nick Giannakopoulos (Electra) and Vickie Maris (Peter); her daughter-in-law Sophia; her siblings, Potoula (late Apostolis) and Theodoraki (Tasia); her nephews, John and Peter; and her child Greek Orthodox of Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the N. H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home (1240 Waukegan Rd, Glenview, IL 60025). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church (5649 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60660).
