With sadness, we share the passing of James F. Shannon of Glenview, Illinois. James, born on July 17, 1929, passed away on September 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanne Shannon; and his parents, James Shannon and Margaret Shannon. He is survived by: his children, Margaret Middleton (James), Ginna Shannon (Paul Schwanke), Catherine Elfstrand (Mark), James Shannon (Lisa), John Shannon and Carol Shannon (Rob Spangler); his grandchildren, Shannon Middleton, Patrick Middleton (Christina), Dan Shannon, Troy Shannon, Missy Adland (Josh), Jake Shannon, Kristen Elfstrand and Andrew Elfstrand; his great grandchildren, Blythe, Hudson, Boden, Harper Middleton, Luke, Max, Ryan, Liam Adland, Hazel and June Middleton; his great great grandchild River; and his sister Mary Jo Shannon.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (1775 Grove St, Glenview, IL 60025). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
