He was predeceased by: his son Alex Karfis; his parents, Demetrios Karfis and Elefteria Karfis (Tsoumas); his siblings, Alexandros, Konstantina, Nikolaos (Marianthe) and Yiannis Karfis (Nikandra); his parents-in-law, Fotios and Eleni Karakostas (Farmakis); and his sister-in-law Maria.
He is survived by: his spouse Angeliki "Koula" Karfis; his children, Jimmy Karfis (Liana) and Elefteria Siozios (Konstantinos); his siblings-in-law, Sophia, Demetrios, Yiannis and Athanasios; and his close friend Argyris. He is also survived by His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the N. H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home (1240 Waukegan Rd, Glenview, IL 60025). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (601 S Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60644).
