We announce the death of Marilyn Gibbons Denten of Glenview, Illinois, who passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 94. Marilyn will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husbands, David Gibbons and Raymond Denten; her grandson Andrew Applegate; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Brennan (Jack) and Loretta McGrath (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, David, Jr. Gibbons (Cathie), Kathleen Gibbons, Sheila Applegate (Ben) and Maureen Chopp (Dan); her grandchildren, David Applegate (Aida), Ben, Jr. Applegate (Jen), Ryan Applegate, Colin Applegate, Ali Beaulieu (Nick), Michael Gibbons (Dayna), Danielle Chopp and John Chopp; her stepchildren, Tom Denten (late Patricia), Bob Denten (Kate), Marty Denten (Margaret), Mary Wolski (Brad), Eileen Newman (John), Julie Kelly (Pat) and Ted Denten (Katie); her brother William C. Tangney (late Tomi); and her friend Marian Walsh.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ryan-Parke Funeral Home (120 S NW Hwy, Park Ridge, IL 60068). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Wisdom Parish (920 Granville Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068). A graveside service was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the All Saints Catholic Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
