He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his children, Kimberly Parra (Eduardo), Laura Shumock (Doug), Brian Herkert (Rebecca) and Pamela Van Niel (Randy); and his grandchildren, Kevin Herkert (Katie), Shannon Herkert, Nicole Mayer (Joe), Delaney Herkert, Justin Van Niel, Taylor Sweet (Nick), Blake Van Niel and Dr. Savannah Paulenich (Freddy).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home (18230 Dixie Hwy, Homewood, IL 60430). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Formerly St. Joseph Church.
