With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alfred Spa of Godfrey, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Spa and Henrietta Spa (Plieger); his wife Carole Jameson; his son Delbert; his brothers, Jacob Spa and Henk Spa; and his great grandchild Oakley.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie (Joe Harris) of Bethalto, Donna (Paul Brenker) of Bunker Hill, David (Tammy Spa) of Miramar Beach, FL and Dorothy McGowen (Vicky Chapman) of Brighton; his grandchildren, Daniel (Carrie Hartley), Deanna Wintjen, Joey (Alicia Harris), Adam (Terra Harris), Jimmy (Nicole Cummings), Ashley Brenker, Ethan (Monica Brenker), Bryan (Alyssa Spa), Kyle (Lindsey Spa), Heather Spa, Thomas Fox (Taylor), Taryn Fox, Torrie Fox, Whitney (Hunter Rigney) and Lindsay Chapman; his great grandchildren, Aerowyn, Jayda, Brianna, Ella, Baya, Piper, Easton, Appalachia, Arlie, Emory, Chase, Caden, Marie, Carter, Brynlee, Jameson, Rylee, Hudson, Callan, Willow, Violet and Alaina Brenker; and his brothers, Ed Spa and John (Diane Spa). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home - Godfrey (1313 W Delmar Ave, Godfrey, IL 62035). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home (1313 W Delmar Ave, Godfrey, IL 62035). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Upper Alton Cemetery (2090 Oakwood Ave, Alton, IL 62002).
